Terms & Conditions

1. General

Isimism Academy is a skill-based online learning platform offering vocational and creative skills and professional certification courses. These terms apply to all users including students (learners) and tutors (instructors). All courses are delivered online and are self-paced unless otherwise stated.

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• You must provide accurate information during registration.
• We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Student Terms

2.1 Accounts

• You need a learner account before you can purchase and access professional courses or vocational and creative skills modules.
• You can have both a student and instructor account, but you must use a different email address for each account.
• One person may not share a single learner account with multiple users.

2.2 Purchases & Access

• You may purchase a full professional course or, where available, individual modules (modular-based purchase).
• A modular-based course allows you to buy specific modules without buying the entire course. A full course gives access to all modules and lessons as one complete programme.
• Access duration is six (6) months to one (1) year from enrolment, depending on the course. Access period is shown at checkout and in your dashboard.
• After successful payment, the course appears in your learner dashboard. You can request support if it does not appear after refreshing or re-logging in.
• All courses are online only. Downloading for offline use is not supported.

2.3 Certificates

Eligible completed modules and full professional courses come with downloadable and shareable certificates. Certificates are issued only after meeting completion criteria and verification.

2.4 Payments & Refunds

• Installment payments are not available for full professional courses. You may pay per module where module-based purchasing is available.
• Isimism Academy does not currently offer refunds. All sales are final. Removing a student from a course does not result in a refund.
• You are responsible for confirming course details, price, and access period before purchase.

2.5 Learner Conduct

• Do not share your login, download and redistribute course videos, or attempt to bypass access controls.
• Do not upload harmful, abusive, or infringing content in reviews, assignments, or messages.
• Violation may lead to suspension or removal without refund.

3. Tutor / Instructor Terms

3.1 Eligibility & Application

• Artists, creatives and industry experts with proven expertise can apply to become instructors. The Academy offers creative and professional certification courses.
• You must register with the role of “tutor” and complete the instructor application. Approval is not automatic – applications and courses go through a review process.
• You may teach skills within areas such as Creative & Art Skills, Professional & Digital Skills, Business, Marketing & Content Creation, and Craft, Handmade & Demonstration-Based Learning, subject to approval.

3.2 Course Review & Publication

• All submitted courses are reviewed before publication. Courses may be approved and published or rejected and returned to draft with required changes.
• Isimism Academy reserves the right to take down or unpublish videos/courses that do not align with platform standards, contain misinformation, poor production quality, copyright infringement, hate, or violate community guidelines – even after publication.
• We may request edits, re-recording, or removal of specific lessons. Repeated non-compliance may lead to account restriction.

3.3 Ownership & Copyright

• You, the instructor, own the course content you create and publish on Isimism Academy.
• You grant Isimism Academy a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, market, and deliver your content to enrolled learners for the duration it remains on the platform.
• You must only upload content you own or have licensed. You can be sued for copyright infringement if you upload courses or materials that are not your own. You are solely liable for any third-party claims arising from your content.
• Plagiarism, impersonation, or re-uploading other instructors’ courses will result in immediate takedown and potential legal action and account termination.

3.4 Earnings, Fees & Payouts

• You set your own course/module price (subject to platform minimums where applicable).
• A 10% service fee will be deducted from each withdrawal/payout as a platform service charge. For example, if you withdraw ₦100,000, you receive ₦90,000 and ₦10,000 is retained as service fee.
• Earnings become available after learner payments are confirmed and any holding period is satisfied.
• Payout requests go through a pending → approved → paid workflow.
• Please allow up to 48 hours for payout processing after approval. Depending on your bank or payment provider, settlement may take additional time.
• You are responsible for providing correct payout account details and for any tax obligations on your earnings.
• We may withhold or adjust payouts in cases of suspected fraud, chargebacks, refunds (if policy changes), or violation of these terms.

3.5 Instructor Responsibilities

• Provide accurate course descriptions, learning outcomes, and pricing.
• Deliver content that is original, safe, and of acceptable audio-visual quality.
• Respond to learner queries where reasonable and respect learner privacy.
• Do not divert learners off-platform to circumvent fees, or engage in spam, harassment, or deceptive marketing.
• Keep your content updated. We may update or archive outdated courses after notice.

4. Intellectual Property & Platform Content

The Isimism Academy platform, branding, design, and non-instructor content are owned by Isimism Co. Ltd and protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not copy, scrape, or reverse-engineer the platform.

5. Acceptable Use & Prohibited Conduct

• No hacking, scraping, or attempting to gain unauthorized access.
• No uploading of malware, hate speech, explicit content involving minors, or content that promotes violence.
• No impersonation of Isimism Academy staff or other users.
• Violation may lead to content takedown, suspension, or legal action.

6. Content Moderation & Takedowns

Isimism Academy may, at its sole discretion:

• Remove or disable access to any video, course, or account that does not align with quality, legal, or community standards.
• Issue warnings, require re-edits, or suspend publishing privileges.
• Cooperate with law enforcement where copyright infringement or illegal activity is reported.

7. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, engage in fraud, or create risk for the platform or other users. Upon termination, your right to access courses or earnings (subject to pending investigation) ceases.

8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Courses are for educational purposes. We do not guarantee employment, income, or specific outcomes. The platform is provided “as is” without warranties. To the extent permitted by law, Isimism Academy’s liability is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant course or, for tutors, the service fee portion of the disputed payout.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in Abuja, Nigeria, or via alternative dispute resolution where mutually agreed.
